Two wins on the Bounce as Wolves take the sting out of the Bees

What a difference a few games can make. From losing five on the bounce to being unbeaten in their last four games, Wolves are now within touching distance of the playoffs.

I think it’s safe to say Nouha Dicko makes a big difference to the team. His power and willingness to run behind defenders gives the team such an outlet.

When he’s absent Wolves seemingly lack any penetration going forward. Taking his goal coolly in the 7th minute, I fear for how we’ll play without him if he plays for Mali in the African Cup of Nations.

Jack Price’s impact in the last three games cannot be underestimated. It’s no coincidence that Kevin McDonald has more space to operate in with The Bearded One buzzing around the middle of the park.

Brentford moved the ball quickly throughout the match but the Wolves defence was more that a match for it. Richard Stearman had an outstanding game, Batth put his body on the line time and time again, and the two youngsters at fullback looked assured throughout.

Iorfa was particular impressive; dominant defensively and strong going forward, Iorfa has a strong future ahead of him.

Playing the consistent back four seems to be paying dividends after a period earlier in the season when there was constant changes to the defence.

It was a shame to see Kevin McDonald sent off in the second half, but at least he won’t miss a league match with Fulham in the FA cup being the next fixture.
