An electric first half consisted of three goals within the space of three minutes. Mario Lemina headed home to an inch perfect cross from Pablo Sarabia in the 13th minute. Brentford restarted the game but a hospital pass from Nathan Collins was intercepted by Hwang Hee-chan, who comfortably dribbled past Mark Flekken and played the ball into an open net just a minute after Wolves opened the scoring.
Brentford had an instant response just two minutes later in the 16th minute when Yoane Wissa tucked away his fourth goal of the season on the half-volley. However the away side restored their two goal advantage once again in the 28th minute, Toti Gomes beat his man to win a header which fell right into the path of Hwang. The South Korean flicked the ball over his man and coolly side footed the ball into the Brentford net once again.
Wolves went into the break with a 3-1 lead.
Brentford challenged Wolves in the second half with consistent attacking threat, however they could not break down Gary O’Neil’s side.
Matheus Cunha patiently waited on the halfway line to drive The Old Gold forward, and was unlucky when he struck the post. However the Brazilian was not out of luck, on the 79th minute he capitalised on a second wayward from Nathan Collins and played the ball on a plate for substitute Jean-Ricner Bellegarde who finished off a successful night in the capital and slotted away his second goal of the season.
This win ended Wolves’ away game losing streak of four games.
