Matheus Cunha became Wolves’ first ever player to score an away Premier League hat-trick
Cole Palmer scored his tenth Premier League goal this season.
Chelsea have conceded eight goals in their last two Premier League games.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Cole Palmer, a tidy side footed finish beat Jose Sa from close range.
Wolves responded immediately just three minutes later through Matheus Cunha, a press from Joao Gomes and Pedro Neto won the ball for Wolves in midfield. Cunha’s shot deflected of Thiago Silva, but this hosts did not care.
A second deflected shot gave Wolves the lead just two minutes before half time, Pedro Neto’s pass was on a plate for Rayan Ait-Nouri. His attempt deflected off Axel Disasi and the visitors took the lead.
After the break, Wolves continued their attacking threat. Pedro Neto used his blistering pace to burst down the right hand side and squared it to Cunha who had time to pick his spot. Which gave Wolves a two-goal advantage.
The Brazilian wasn’t finished there, as he attacked the left hand side when he dribbled into the box, only to be hacked down by Malo Gusto inside the area. Cunha stepped up from 12 yards and coolly slotted the ball home, which enabled him to take the match ball back to Wolverhampton.
Chelsea showed spirit towards the end of the game with Thiago Silva heading the ball home four minutes from time, however it was too little too late for Pochettino’s side.
Wolves’ next game will be at Molineux against Brentford, the fourth time they have faced this opposition this season.
Chelsea will travel to the West Midlands to face Aston Villa in an FA Cup fourth round replay.
